As a Home Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing assistance to individuals who require support with daily activities, personal care, and companionship. The successful candidate must:
- Be a reliable and dependable individual.
- Possess a valid and unblemished driver's license, with full access to a vehicle being a essential.
- Exhibit a caring and kind demeanor, embracing a person-centered approach when interacting with clients.
- Hold a QQI Level 5 qualification in Healthcare Support, Care Skills, Care of the Older Person or an equivalent qualification, or be open to working towards obtaining one with the support of WHC.
- Showcase effective communication and practical skills.
- While experience in a health or social care setting is desirable, it is not essential, as comprehensive training will be provided.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities of the role:
- Assist clients with activities of daily living, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication reminders.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure the well-being of clients.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of client care activities.
